The Humble Man

You would think a man that helped lead his team to a world champion , and won Most Valuable Player in the same year would have every right to be cocky , but Stephen Curry has remained humble through this whole experience . He remains humble , because he says that he owes everything to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ .
Wardell Stephen “Steph” Curry II was born on March 14 ,1988 he is the son of Wardell “Dell” and Sonya Curry . Curry was born in Akron , Ohio but he calls Charlotte , North Carolina home . Stephen Curry has not always been the most talked about player that everyone knows him as today . Believe it or not Virginia Tech , his father’s alma mater turned him down because they felt that he was too small . Stephen Curry would later go on to play at Davidson University not too far from home in Davidson , North Carolina . Stephen Curry would do great things while attending Davidson he would be a 2x Southern Conference Player of the Year , and help lead his team to the 2008 Elite 8 of the NCCA Men’s Basketball March Madness Tournament .
In 2009 , Stephen Curry would be the seventh overall pick of the NBA draft in 2009 to the Golden State Warriors . Since , day one of his career with the Warriors he has accomplished great things , with a minor setback in the 2011-2012 season when he had to miss half of the season due to an ankle injury , but his returning season he broke the NBA record for most scored threes ending the season with 272 threes . The 2014-2015 season Curry scored his 1,000th three pointer , he would be the first player to ever accomplish a career goal this fast . Curry would continue his season of greatness by making his first All Star team appearance as a starter , become the Most Valuable Player , and a World Champion all in the same season.
Stephen Curry is just as successful off the court as he is on the court . His beautiful little family is proof . He’s been married to his wife Ayesha Curry for four years , and they have a beautiful little girl Riley , and one on the way . Steph Curry is also apart of many
charitable organizations like Nothing But Nets which provides mosquito nets to children in Africa to prevent malaria , The Curry family host their own charity event The Curry Family Classic a celebrity Golf tournament , and Steph has even helped host the ThanksUSA Charity Golf Tournament .
Stephen Curry is a man that you can’t help but respect , he has came a long way in his journey from being too small to play for Virginia Tech to now being the MVP of the NBA , and a World Champion all in one year . Stephen has remained humbled through the whole experience , and thanking the man above for blessing him with his God given talent . In one of Stephen’s recent interviews with Decision magazine he was quoted saying this “ I know why I play the game, and it’s not to score 30 points a night, but it’s to use the stage I’m on. I’ve been put here for a specific purpose: to be a witness and to share my testimony as I go through it.”
