Orlando battles Boston to OT, loses in the end 116-111.

BOSTON, MA – The Orlando Magic lost to the Boston Celtics 116-111 in overtime at the TD Waterhouse Garden on Sunday.

Orlando held a 12 point lead in the fourth quarter, and Jalen Brown was on fire last night, scoring a game high 50 points for the night.

Th Celtics, without all-star Jason Tatum who is in protocol conditioning, managed to to outscore the Magic 35-23 in the fourth quarter after falling behind in the third.

Orlando went on a closed the third period on a 20-4 run, giving them a 77-65 after the end of the third.

Orlando returned to the court with the steady veteran touch of Terrance Ross back on the floor for them after losing him to COVID protocols a couple of weeks ago. Ross delivered, adding 33 points, the high for Orlando, and providing his usual spark from the Magic Bench.

Orlando also got the services of Mo Bamba back on the court, taking up some space in the paint with rebounds, as well as Hassani Gravett and Mychal Mulder bringing back some help at the point guard spot.

After the Magic 4th quarter lead, Brown scored 21 points in the quarter, and opened the overtime with his th three point shot.

50 is a career record for brown, who’s previous game high is 46 against the Knicks on Oct. 20. Brown also grabbed 11 rebounds for Boston.

Marcus Smart added 17 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for the Celtics, who needed an 11-2 run down the stretch to force overtime. Dennis Schroder had 21 points and seven assists.

Gary Harris added 23 points and Wendell Carter Jr. finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds for Orlando. Frazier, who also scored 11 in the third, finished with 14 points.

Orlando travels to Chicago to face the red-hot Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
