ORLANDO, FL – The Knights bounced back after a 2-game losing streak in a convincing fashion. UCF improves their record to 3-2 after steam-rolling Tulane 51-34. This loss to the Knights makes 3 in a row for Tulane with their last win against the Knights coming on October 3rd, 2015.

This was another spectacular performance by Dillion Gabriel as he threw for 422 yards and 5 TDs. This is the 4th game out 5 this season that Gabriel has thrown for at least 400+ passing yards and the 2nd straight game he’s tossed 5 touchdowns.

Gabriel and receiver Marlon Williams got back on track with the 2 of them connecting 9 times for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was their 54-yard TD connection that would foreshadow the rest of the game for the QB-WR tandem.

Dillion Gabriel on his 54-yard TD pass to Williams, “For the most part it’s players going making plays – O-line obviously, you know – made a block or two and then Marlon making a great catch, so it all works hand-in-hand, it’s a team effort and I’m so glad we were able to come out on top.”

UCF’s offense was clicking on all cylinders as RB Greg McCrae tallied 162 yards on the ground keeping Tulane’s defense honest throughout the game.

Last week UCF struggled on their 3rd down efficiency only converting 6 out of their 16 attempts. This week however, UCF showed their focus completing 10 out of their 17 attempts, yet Gabriel believes the team can continue to improve.

“Man there’s 7 more we could’ve got. All of us you know, just play-by-play, drive-by-drive I tell them, quarter-by-quarter, we just have to be able to chew away. I’m proud of the offense and I’m also proud of the defense”, said Gabriel.

Next up, UCF travels to Texas to face-off against the Houston Cougars on Saturday, October 31st at 2PM ET.
