No fireworks for Orlando City as they fall 3-1 to Philly

ORLANDO – Orlando City SC lost 3-1 to the first division leading Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night in front of over 22,000 fans.

The lightening delayed match was delayed 45 minutes due to inclement weather.

Chris Mueller fired a blast to put Orlando on top in the 8th minute to start off the scoring.

Philadelphia’s Kacper Przybylko drove in 2 goals (32″, 47″) and Fafa Picauls added to the the score with a strike late win the match. (52″)

“We started the game really brightly and got a goal and then after the goal it felt like we needed to do a better job of maintaining possession.” Said Orlando City head coach James O’Connor “We allowed them [Philadelphia] to come back into the game a little bit. They scored a goal but then I think, obviously, the sending off has a major impact.”

Orlando played with first one man down when Robin Jansson drew a red card on a foul in the 45″. Sasha Kjlestan joined him after also drawing a red card later in the match, leaving the Lions to battle two men down.

The two teams meet again on Saturday in Philadelphia for their next Match.
