Orlando Pride Announces 2019 Preseason Roster

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 4, 2019) – On the opening day of the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) preseason, Orlando Pride has announced its training camp roster.

The Pride enter training at Seminole Soccer Complex with 17 players in camp, including returning forwards Danica Evans, Rachel Hill and Sydney Leroux; midfielders Kristen Edmonds and Dani Weatherholt; defenders Ali Krieger, Carson Pickett and Toni Pressley, as well as goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer.

Orlando will be without seven players at the beginning of preseason due to international duty, including Alex Morgan and Ashlyn Harris, who have been called up to the U.S. Women’s National Team ahead of the SheBelieves Cup. Marta and Chioma Ubogagu are also participating in the annual tournament for Brazil and England, respectively. All four teams will compete in the final day of the tournament on Tuesday in Tampa, Fla. and will return to camp in the days following.

Australians Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy remain in their home country, competing in the Cup of Nations. Canadian defender Shelina Zadorsky is also away with her national team due to the 2019 Algarve Cup in Portugal.

Joining the Pride for preseason will be 2019 NWSL College Draft picks Erin Greening out of the University of Colorado, and Marisa Viggiano from Northwestern University.

Non-roster invitees include midfielders Bridget Callahan and Abby Elinsky, who both appeared in matches for the Pride last season, as well as Kim Reynolds, Joanna Boyles, Alika Keene and goalkeeper Lainey Burdett.

Orlando Pride will head into the 2019 season with a new staff at the helm in Head Coach Marc Skinner and assistant coach Carl Green. Lloyd Yaxley will return as the Pride’s goalkeeper coach.

The Pride kick off the regular season on April 14 when they host Portland Thorns FC at Orlando City Stadium. Season and group ticket packages are currently available at or by calling (855) ORL-CITY.
