Houston Rockets Fire Coach Kevin McHale

It’s only 11 games into the season, and the NBA has it’s first coaching vacancy. The 4-7 Houston Rockets fired head coach Kevin McHale according to Yahoo Sports and ESPN.

The Rockets season started with a three game losing streak, they they won their next four, and are now in a four game losing streak. There are voices out in the media decrying McHale’s sudden firing. Charles Barkley and Stephen A Smith have come out to say that McHale wasn’t given a fair shot. The Rockets made it to the playoffs for yet another year in 2014, but were ousted in the first round by the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors.

The Rockets returned with the same roster this year and even added point guard Ty Lawson. The team just hasn’t gelled so far this year and the front office wanted a change. Assistant J.B. Bickerstaff will serve as interim coach.
