2022 DAYTONA Supercross Set for March 5
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 20, 2021) – The tradition-rich DAYTONA Supercross, the 52nd running of the toughest, most demanding course of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship season, is set to return to iconic Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
The only scheduled Monster Energy AMA Supercross event in the state of Florida in 2022, the DAYTONA Supercross is the longest continuous Supercross race in America dating back to 1971, and features the best riders in the world. For the 15th straight year, five-time DAYTONA Supercross champion Ricky Carmichael will lend his signature design to the most grueling Supercross course on the circuit.
The DAYTONA Supercross, Round 9 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, could also be one of epic, historic proportions. Eli Tomac, the reigning series champion, will go for a record sixth victory that would take him out of a tie with the Greatest of All Time, Carmichael, with five DAYTONA Supercross titles. Tomac has won the last three (2019, ‘20, ‘21) and five out of the last six (2016, ‘17).
“With the world-class pyrotechnics and dazzling lights show of rider introductions to the excitement of the incredible course, the atmosphere at the DAYTONA Supercross is second to none,” said Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher. “We are so thrilled to welcome fans back to this legendary event in 2022. It’s a host of marquee names with incredible high-flying action that will also be intensified as Eli Tomac tries to rewrite the record book at The World Center of Racing.”
General admission tickets for the DAYTONA Supercross start at $40 and kids 5 and under are FREE. Trackside Access allows fans to view the race while standing on the frontstretch of the 2.5-mile tri-oval, getting them closer to the action than anywhere else on the circuit for an additional $20 (must be accompanied by race ticket). Kids 5 and under are FREE Trackside. Renewal customers can log in to their account to renew their tickets, or call 1-800-PITSHOP. Reserved seating and other experiences will go on-sale at a later time this fall.
