Magic hit some bumps on the road; Return home 6-4 to face Milwaukee
by Alex Fleming
The Magic were finishing up a road trip in which they played Top notch Western conference competition. They lost to Houston by 42, by allowing six Houston Rockets to score in double figures. they had to play the following night against the Dallas mavericks, who are missing some people do the covid restrictions. A short-handed Dallas Mavericks squad beat the Magic by 22 points, 98 to 120. Anthony Hardaway Jr had 36 points for the starting crew. Luka Doncic had a mediocre game, all he did was get a triple double for his efforts. He managed to get 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Trey Burke grab 29 points off the bench. The Dallas Mavericks even outrebounded the Orlando Magic by two. The Orlando Magic are now 6-4 on the season, with a losing road record.
The Orlando Magic return home to play against an old adversary. The Milwaukee Bucks are 12-1 against the Orlando Magic the last two seasons, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a menace for the entire Magic roster. an old friend and former teammate of the Orlando Magic, DJ Augustin is now a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. It would only make sense that the Orlando Magic address this issue tonight at the Amway arena. Regardless of the outcome, the Orlando Magic will have to play 21 games in 39 nights. Their next 2 days off isn’t until February 3rd.
The Orlando Magic have to find a way to separate themselves from the rest of the field, if they have ambitions of being higher than an eithth seed in this year’s NBA playoff format. With the next two games at home, they return back to the road to face more Western conference competition. Do the magic have what it needs to pull off victories against teams no one expects them to beat? The loss of Markelle Fultz will make this venture harder. The lack of production from Mo Bamba, and the absence of Michael Carter-Williams doesn’t make this task any easier.
