Sloane Stephens takes to the court to encourage teen rising stars ahead of US Open
Just as US Open fan week kicks off at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center, 2017 US Open Champion and Mercedes-Benz Ambassador Sloane Stephens, took to the court yesterday, to share some tennis knowledge and skill with an illustrious group of female tennis enthusiasts, including a special group of teen rising stars who are part of the USTA National Junior Tennis and Learning network.
The afternoon was part of Mercedes-Benz continued official sponsorship of the US Open, and the brands commitment to motivate, connect and empower women and young girls to get out of their comfort zones and unleash their best.
Highlights from the day include:
- USTA tennis professional and FedCup Captain, Kathy Rinaldi joined Sloane and guests on the court leading warm ups and drills
- 11 teens from the National Junior Tennis and Learning Network joined Sloane for group photos and fun on the court
- ESPN Personality and Mercedes-Benz Ambassador Maria Taylor sat with Sloane for an exclusive Q&A for the audience
In addition to her time on the court in the real world, Sloane is also featured in an all-new Augmented Reality experience featuring Mercedes-Benz MBUX technology. Available to spectators at the US Openin the Mercedes-Benz Brand Showroom, guests will be fully immersed in court side play with an untethered racquet in hand to experience a highly personalized and sometimes comical, one-on-one tennis lesson, learning form and precision from the tennis superstar.
