SAN JOSE, Calif.; It’s been a whirlwind rookie season for Beau Leroux, and Matchday 21 just added another highlight to his breakout campaign.

The San Jose Earthquakes midfielder has been awarded AT&T Goal of the Matchday honors, collecting 34.4% of the fan vote for his breathtaking curler in the 1-1 Cali Clásico draw against the LA Galaxy at Stanford Stadium.

In the 32nd minute, Leroux drifted into space just outside the penalty arc, took one touch to steady himself, and unleashed a precision strike that curled past Galaxy goalkeeper John McCarthy and nestled into the top right corner. The goal not only gave San Jose the early lead, but also electrified the home crowd and underlined why the 21-year-old has quickly become one of the most exciting young players in MLS.

Final Vote Breakdown:

  • 1st – Beau Leroux (SJ): 34.4%

  • 2nd – Emmanuel Sabbi (VAN): 28.3%

  • 3rd – Evander (CIN): 21.9%

  • 4th – Philip Zinckernagel (CHI): 15.4%

Sabbi finished second with his mesmerizing give-and-go finish for Vancouver Whitecaps FC, which gave them a crucial 1-0 road win at LAFC. Evander took third thanks to his clever quick free kick against Orlando City, and Zinckernagel‘s long solo run and finish for Chicago Fire FC earned him fourth place.
