Luis Muriel, Marco Pašalić, and Dagur Dan Thórhallsson each found the back of the net, marking the third consecutive match in which the Lions have scored at least three goals. It was also the sixth time Orlando has accomplished that feat this season.

After a competitive, back-and-forth first half, the breakthrough came just before halftime. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese launched a pinpoint drop kick downfield that found a sprinting Muriel behind the Miami backline. The Colombian striker calmly dribbled into the box, faced Inter Miami goalkeeper Óscar Ustari one-on-one, and slotted the ball into the lower-left corner to give Orlando a 1-0 lead. The goal was Muriel’s sixth of the 2025 campaign and his 11th all-time for the club.

Orlando doubled its advantage in the 53rd minute after sustained offensive pressure. Midfielder Martín Ojeda delivered a cutback from the right flank into the middle of the Miami penalty area, where Pašalić ran onto it and struck it first-time. Ustari got his hands to the shot, but couldn’t keep it out as it trickled into the net for Pašalić’s second goal of the season.

Gallese’s assist on the Muriel goal was his first of the year and the second of his Orlando City career. His previous assist came in a 2-0 win over Charlotte FC on September 18, 2024, setting up a goal by Duncan McGuire.

The Lions sealed the victory deep into stoppage time. Defender Kyle Smith played a perfectly weighted ball down the left wing to McGuire, who squared it across the six-yard box to a surging Thórhallsson. The Icelandic midfielder tapped it home for his second goal of the regular season.

Orlando City now returns to the City Beautiful for Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action, where they’ll host fellow MLS side Nashville SC in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, May 21. Kickoff from Inter&Co Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the match airing live on Paramount+.
