Warriors Top Wizards, Curry Scores 30

OAKLAND, Calif. — Stephen Curry scored 30 points, Klay Thompson added 27 and the Golden State Warriors beat the Washington Wizards 122-114 on Saturday night.
Golden State (21-20) won its second straight to climb above .500 for the first time since Nov. 18. The Warriors shot 56% from the field and made 16 3-pointers.
“It was good to see the ball go in,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “We’ve been struggling offensively, so hopefully this is something we can build on.”
Kyle Kuzma led Washington (6-34) with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Poole, who played for the Warriors last season, had 25 points and six assists against his former team.
The Wizards have lost five straight and 12 of their last 13.
“We’re competing, but we’re just not quite good enough right now,” Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. said. “We have to find ways to be better.”
Golden State led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter, but Washington cut the deficit to nine with 2:30 remaining. Curry then hit a 3-pointer and Thompson followed with a jumper to seal the win.
“We got a little sloppy there in the fourth, but we made the plays we needed to down the stretch,” Curry said.
The Warriors played without Draymond Green, who was out with right knee soreness.
