A Night to Forget: Magic Fall to Celtics 121-94
Boston, MA – The Orlando Magic might as well forget this one. They fell to the Boston Celtics 121-94 on the second day of a quick road two-game trip.

After falling to the Milwaukee Bucks 122-93 on Wednesday, the Magic are eager to get back home after this second drubbing by another NBA East leader.
“It’s one loss and it’s two in a row now,” said Orlando Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley.“But just keeping our heads in the right space, understanding where we can improve what we have to work on with the little things in the details of these games, but back and look at the film and then be ready to go Sunday against Denver.”
Coming into Boston with a 9-12 road record, Orlando was still battling injuries, and Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosley has still been squeezing as much as he can out of his roster.

Even with All-Star Paolo Banchero back, it made little difference as Boston was primed for revenge on their December loss in Orlando.
Jayson Tatum dropped 30 points on the Magic, with Kristaps Porzingis scoring 25 for Boston.
Orlando’s Cole Anthony continued his high-energy play and toughness, and led the Magic with 23 points, followed by Banchero, who scored 21 points.
In both games on this trip, the Magic’s defense, which is among the best in the league, wasn’t nearly ferocious enough. The Celtics shot 52.5 percent from the field overall. They also took 22 free throws, making 20 of them.
Orlando’s usual scrappy defense managed to keep them relatively close through most of the first half, staying within 10 points for most of the half.
The Celtics pushed on the gas pedal and went up as much as 27 points in the game. It was a legit blowout.
On the other end, the Magic never got into much of a rhythm. They again struggled from 3-point distance, going 5-for-32. It was the 22nd time this season they shot under 30 percent from beyond the arc and the fourth time they shot under 20 percent.
There was a brief scare midway through the third quarter when Paolo Banchero got hit in the right eye by Kristaps Porzingis on a drive. He was down on the court for a few minutes and was then examined on the bench before returning later that same period.
“It definitely had an impact, but I was able to be out there,” he said. “That wasn’t really to blame. It’s hard to see, but it is what it is. It will get better.”
The 6-foot-10 forward, playing in his fourth game after missing the prior 34 with a torn right oblique, finished with 21 points. Cole led Orlando with 23 points, while Wendell Carter Jr. scored 15.
Out for the Magic were Franz Wagner (return to competition reconditioning), Jalen Suggs (low back strain), Goga Bitadze (concussion protocol), Gary Harris (left hamstring; strain), Jett Howard (left ankle; sprain), and Moe Wagner (left knee; torn ACL).
Orlando heads home to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday at the Kia Center.
