Bucs final training camp day goes indoors due to lightening
Tampa, FL – Training Camp Day 11: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers concluded their final public training camp practice on Wednesday at One Buc Place with a special tribute to the military. Designated as Military Day, the event featured a military color guard and offered military members and their families the opportunity to watch practice and meet the Buccaneers.
As the team engaged in scrimmages, a lightning storm forced fans and media into the team’s expansive indoor training facility to continue observing the practice. Following the session, military personnel participated in a football boot camp.
Head coach Todd Bowles addressed the media, emphasizing the importance of this final training camp phase for player development and competition. “We’re fine-tuning everything now,” said Bowles. “Every rep counts, and we’re making sure everyone is on the same page.”
Baker Mayfield showcased impressive accuracy during eleven-on-eleven drills, connecting with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and tight end Cade Otten. Otten excelled, making multiple catches, including a touchdown reception.
Bowles highlighted Otten’s performance, attributing his success to the attention drawn by other receivers. “When you’ve got Mike and Chris and Trey [Palmer] and Jalen [McMillan] out there, the tight ends are going to be singled a lot and Cade’s got to get open,” said Bowles.
As the Buccaneers prepare for the preseason, the team remains focused on building momentum and establishing a strong foundation for the upcoming season.
