Buc’s Mike Evans suspended one game for on field brawl in 20-10 win over Saints

TAMNPA, FL – The NFL announced on Monday that Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has  been suspended one game without pay for his role in an on field fight in New Orleans on Sunday while they played the New Orleans Saints. The fight was part of a. bench-clearing brawl that took place a few minutes into the fourth quarter.

Evans is being suspended for violating the NFL’s unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules.

Both teams were ties 3-3 in the fourth, when New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore made a dismissive hand motion in Tom Brady’s face at the end of a play. Brady turned around, presumably to run his mouth, which is when Leonard Fournette pushed Lattimore. Evans, who was all the way on the sideline, ran in like a heat-seeking missile and tackled Lattimore, and then everything devolved from there.

Lattimore was ejected from the game, but did not receive a suspension or a fine. He didn’t initiate any contact in the fight, but Fournette’s pushing of Lattimore started the physical confrontation.

As a result of the suspension, Evans will not be available for the Bucs next game against the Green Bay Packers, but will be available for. Week 4 again the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady Apologizes for Breaking Tablet

Tom Brady showed is frustration during Sunday’s game by breaking a tablet on the sidelines and yelling at coaches and fellow players, even thought the Bucs left New Orleans with a 20-10 win over the Saints.

On Sunday night, the 45-year-old athlete apologised for his actions in a video posted to Twitter. He started off the clip by addressing his team’s “great win to get to 2-0”, referring to how the Buccaneers have won every game since the 2022 football season started.

However, he still expressed that regardless of his big wins, “the ugly” moments “count too”, before acknowledging how his outburst on the field went viral.

“Sorry for breaking that tablet,” he said. “I think that’s going to be another Twitter meme or something like that.”
