Chris Mueller leaving Orlando City – joins Hibernian as a free agent
ORLANDO – July 23, 2021 – Chris Mueller is headed to Scotland. On Thursday, Scottish Premiership side Hibernian announced that they have signed the 22-year-old winger to a pre-contract. Mueller is currently a part of Major League Soccer side Orlando City but his contract is set to expire at the end of the 2021 season. The Lions were in negotiations with the right-winger but could not reach a deal to keep Mueller in the United States.United States.

This signing speaks to our commitment to build and improve on last season. I know he will be an exciting addition to our very strong squad. I am confident he will become a fans’ favorite.” Added head coach Jack Ross: “Chris was someone who was brought to our attention a number of months ago. We worked long and hard to make this deal happen.”
Mueller has scored two goals and four assists in 13 MLS games this season. It is a slight drop from his ten goals and six assists in 28 games across all competitions last year. Nonetheless, Mueller has been an important part of an Orlando City side that is currently challenging for a top position in the Eastern Conference.
