Forbes Releases 2020 Billionaires List
Each year, Forbes releases names of the richest people in the world and in 2020 the list of billionaires have increased. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos remains on top for the third year in a row despite an 18 Billion dollar drop and a 38 Billion dollar divorce. The Amazon CEO is worth a whopping 113 Billion dollars which is down from 131 Billion in 2019. The decrease is due to his divorce. Next on the list is former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates with a Net Worth of 98 Billion Dollars, a 1.5 Billion Dollar increase from 2019.
At the number 3 spot you will find Bernard Arnault of LVMH which has seen an increase in his wealth. Mr. Arnault moved up to the number 3 spot this year which was held by Warren Buffet in 2019. Warren Buffet is now at the number 4 spot, his fortune is now at 67.5 Billion Dollars, down from 82.5 Billion. Rounding out the top 5 is Larry Ellison, founder, chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Oracle Corporation. Ellison’s fortune is down 3.5 Billion Dollars to 59 Billion.
This year has brought 178 New Billionaires on the Forbes list including Zoom’s CEO Eric Yuan, Julia Koch who inherited 42% stake from Koch Industries when her husband David died last year. We also see MacKenzie Bezos, the ex-wife of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. MacKenzie has a network of 36 Billion Dollars.
