Magic trade for Markelle Fultz
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported the the Orlando Magic have traded wingman Jonathan Simmons, and two draft picks for project point guard Markelle Fultz
The Magic are sending Simmons and a first-round pick (via the Thunder), and a second-round pick (via the Cavaliers).
Simmons was solid player for the Magic in their 2017-18 season, but fell off in this production after off-season wrist surgery. He was averaging 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20.6 minutes over 41 games with the Magic this season.
Fultz, a number one pick for the Sixers, has been a frustration for Philadelphia. He has struggled to find his shooting rhythm as a starter and was sidelined with a nerve condition in his shoulder and neck since November.
He played in just 33 games with the Sixers over the past two seasons with averages of 7.7 points on 41.4-percent shooting from the floor, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
The Magic see him as a long-term project and like chances w/ Steve Clifford and his staff getting to work with him.
