George Clooney is the world’s highest-paid actor
George Clooney made more bank in the last year than any other actor on the planet.
The 57-year-old star tops Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors, earning $239 million between June 2017 and June 2018.
The bulk of Clooney’s fortune came from the $1 billion sale of his Casamigos tequila brand, Forbes reported, with other income stemming from endorsement deals and older movies.
Clooney is a fan of sharing his wealth, gifting 14 friends $1 million each and donating significant sums to help migrant children and in support of the March for Our Lives.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was the highest-paid actor of 2016, came in at No. 2 this year with $124 million, much of which came from his upfront pay for movies, as well as his deal for a portion of profits from “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”
“Avengers” stars were next: Robert Downey Jr. is No. 3 with $81 million ($15 million of which was reportedly just for his brief screentime in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”), followed by Chris Hemsworth at No. 4 with $64.5 million.
Jackie Chan clocked in at No. 5 with $45.5 million.
Mark Wahlberg held the top spot last year with $68 million.
