Fresh in from Paris, Serge Ibaka was introduced to the Orlando Media as a new member of the Orlando Magic. “I’m very hay and excited to be here. It’s a new challenge for me and I can’t wait.” Said Ibaka, who was accompanied by Gm Rob shenanigan and Head Coach Frank Vogel.
The Orlando Magic traded for Ibaka on draft night, sending Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and the draft rights to Domantas Sabonis.
Serge found out about the trade via a text from his father. He was shocked at first, but very happy. “I’m happy to be here with a young and hungry team. My goal is to make it to the playoffs.”
“Serge is someone who really fits all of the things that was are going to do on the floor and and in the community. We’re really excited about all of the different things he’s going to bring.” Said Magic GM Rob Hennigan. “We’re very excited to bring him to our community and organization.
Ibaka was sporting a black Orlando United t-shirt and stated that he asked Rob if he could wear it. “I know about what happened here in Orlando United shot to show my support. Now that I am here, they are my family, and I wanted to show support” said Ibaka.
