Tracy Morgan is in talks to play comedian Redd Foxx in the Richard Pryor bio pic to be directed by Lee Daniels.
Tracy will play Foxx, who was a local club owner who gave Pryor a shot in his early years of stand-up. “Mr. Foxx, I hope I do you justice!” said Morgan in a statement. “It will be an honor to portray an icon.”
Kate Hudson is slated to play Pryor’s wife Jennifer, and Taraji P Henson and Eddie Murphy are also in line to play his parents. Oprah Winfrey, who has previously worked with Daniels in The Butler, will star as Pryor’s grandmother who raised him.
