Orlando City SC Kevin Molina injured, Out for season.
Orlando City SC had a big day this past Saturday when they hosted a friendly game against Brazilian side Ponte Preta during a bye week and won 3-2. Along with this win they also suffered some devastating news that is causing a big shake up in the teams line up. During the 16th minute of the game Orlando City’s midfielder Kevin Molino went down clutching his right knee in writhing pain. He was carried off the field by another teammate and physical therapist. After seeking medical attention it was heartbreaking news to the entire team that Molino tore his ACL and would be out the remainder of the season. The team is already working with him and medical professionals to get him back on the field by next season. However, this puts head coach Adrian Heath in a bind since this is the 4th player that is currently out and this leaves a position opened with an already thinned out team. While Heath is still working out the specifics for who’ll replace Molino, it is highly likely that power player Brek Shea will be moved up to the attacking midfield position. With this change Heath will mostly put Eric Avila or Carlos Rivas in the Right Wing. If things plan out accordingly we could be looking at a solid team line up just days before Orlando City SC hosts Eastern Conference rivals England Revolution on Friday, May 8th at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
