The dynamic duo of David and Tamela Mann are back and gearing up to debut their latest project. This power couple is not only known for their successful gospel music careers but for their work with Tyler Perry in his popular movie and cable television series ‘Meet the Browns’. Now David and Tamela have worked together to achieve the title of executive producers in Bounce TV’s Original Sitcom ‘Mann & Wife’.
Mann & Wife is a show that follows recent newlyweds Daniel and Toni Mann, each with two kids from prior relationships, through the highs and lows of everyday life of being a blended family. The shows kicks off with Daniel and Toni returning home from a honeymoon to Daniel’s Mother, Lorraine (Jomarie Payton, “Family Matters”), and their 4 kids wreaking hilarious havoc in the household. The show continues to follow Daniel as he meets a new detective and partner, Michael (Tony Rock, “Think Like a Man”), and Toni as she gets a job as a substitute teacher at one of the kids new schools. This hilarious cast is set to include special guest stars such as Vivica A. Fox, Anthony Brown, Demetra McKinney, and Rolonda Watts.
The multi-camera sitcom is partly inspired by the real lives of David and Tamela Mann and is focused on the core values of family. “We want to give a look at the African American family that’s positive, since there’s so much negative stuff out there.” Said David. They want this show to do more than just bring laughs and entertainment to the home, but to “resolve conflicts through dialogue and agree to disagree, because family is all you have,” as Tamela Mann puts it. “Mann & Wife” touches on major topics that families can relate to such as being a blended family, what church to attend, new parents, and baby mama drama. This comical family-friendly sitcom premieres on Bounce TV on Tuesday, April 7th at 9pm ET/8 CT.
