Think Muslims Haven’t Condemned The Charlie Hebdo Attack? Think Again.
Immediately following the shooting at French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, Muslims around the world rose up to condemn the attack.
The Grand Mosque of Paris was one of many organizations to issue a statement after the shooting, saying its community was “shocked” and “horrified” by the violence.
We strongly condemn these kind of acts and we expect the authorities to take the most appropriate measures. Our community is stunned by what just happened. It’s a whole section of our democracy that is seriously affected. This is a deafening declaration of war. Times have changed, and we are now entering a new era of confrontation.
For any who missed the coverage, Citations Needed blogger Adam Johnson made a GIF highlighting the countless incidents of Muslim organizations and individuals condemning the atrocious attack, based on reporting from The Huffington Post, The Spectator and RawStory.
