Tech Entrepreneur Charged With Murder Of Ex-Wife's New Husband
A high-profile technology entrepreneur is charged with murder after police say he fatally shot his ex-wife’s new husband.
Authorities in Virginia arrested Minh Nguyen, 38, in connection with the death of Corey Mattison in Ashburn, Virginia, on Thursday night.
Polices say that Nguyen fatally shot Mattison after the two men engaged in a struggle over a firearm. Two children were in the home at the time of the incident, the Washington Post reports.
Denise and Corey Mattison had been married for five months.
When police arrived to arrest him, Nguyen was found being held down by his own mother, according to reports.
Mattison’s widow said that her husband was thankful for each day.
“He was my hero way before a few nights ago,” Denise Mattison said, according to NBC Washington. “They just don’t come like him. It was a kind of thing when every single one of my friends or family members met him, they would think, it was just kind of like, he’s just kind of too perfect… and the truth is that he was. He was the greatest man I’ve ever known.”
Nguyen is perhaps best known as a co-founder of Plaxo, an address book software company acquired by Comcast Interactive in 2008, according to CNN. He most recently was working as a consultant for several technology companies.
He is being held without bond.
