Shakira Unveils Gorgeous Pregnancy Pics To Raise Funds For Families In Need Worldwide
Shakira is celebrating motherhood by helping impoverished families across the globe.
The pop star is using her second pregnancy to help fund much-needed aid to mothers and children in need in the developing world, according to UNICEF. The organization announced Shakira is hosting a “World Baby Shower” online, asking supporters to buy items — including vaccines, midwifery kits and blankets — that will be donated toward vulnerable children in underserved regions.
The Colombian singer released photos of herself alongside partner Gerard Piqué and son Milan, who turns 2 years old on Thursday, to draw attention to the cause.

Shakira and Piqué’s “World Baby Shower” marks the second time the couple used their global fame to benefit UNICEF. In celebration of their first child, the duo helped garner about 184,000 rehydration salts, 3.8 tons of therapeutic food and 80,000 polio vaccines through an online gift registry benefiting kids in need, according to a video posted on the singer’s Facebook page.
“Now that we are soon welcoming our second child, we want to help other children around the world and also contribute to a long-lasting solution for getting children living in extreme poverty the supplies they need to survive,” Shakira said in a statement through UNICEF, according to US Weekly.
