Video captures 40-year-old woman hearing for the first time

40-year-old Joanne Milne from Gateshead, England was born with Usher Syndrome, she’s been deaf since birth and in her mid-20s the disease claimed her sight. Four weeks ago Milne was fitted with bilateral cochlear implants. Joanne’s implants were turned on this week and her mother, Ann, was there to capture ‘the most emotional and overwhelming experience of her life’.
